Google have launched their free analytics service (following their purchase of Urchin a little while ago). Seems to work similarly to the Webtrends On-Demand service (previously WebTrends live)

Sounds interesting. I’ve signed up, but have been waiting for data for about four days now! Seems like they massively underestimated how popular it would be. Thanks for the headsup!

I’ve now got report data, and WOW, Google have really surprised me with this, the quality of the reports is very good. Not perfect, but very good. For instance, perhaps I’m asking too much, but I would like to be able to not just see that /article.aspx is doing well, but I want to see how the specific variations of this page are doing, i.e. differentiated by parameter.

The value I’ve been able to extract from this app straight away, is the ability to see shortcomings in the structure of LB, I can see there needs to be an improvement made on the navigation, some loose ends tied up to errenous pages, and better cross-promotion of various site content.

The conversion and advert tracking functionality will no doubt also prove very interesting to our people working on LB’s promotion. Thanks David, you’re a star!
