Sounds good! They're certainly very slick machines to the eye, and the OS looks equally pleasing on an asthetic front. I've been a huge fan of Apple's branding and marketing for a while now. I'll never say never, but for now, I'm interesting in hearing about your experiences!

My Sony Vaio laptop is a long way from replacement though.

Ah, but with the new Intel based Macs you can dual-boot Windows and OS X, although I\'m still using my Windows laptop seperately. Plus, when Parallels comes out of beta you\'ll be able to virtualize other OS\'s at near native performance thanks to the HyperVisor in the core duo chips.

I\'ve only been using OS X for a week and I have to say it\'s far superior to anything that\'s come out of Redmond! Oh my god... I\'m turning into a fanboy aren\'t I? :)

The plastic blocking the vents issue is for the MacBook, not the MacBook Pro. Photo\'s soon.

Wow, you jumped ship David!? I've always liked the modern macs, but just can't bring myself to move to them, as I need a pc for my development work. I take it you've read about Apple accidentally leaving a thin layer of film blocking the vents at the rear of the laptop, causing over-heating?

So come on, tell us what it's like, how's the transition going for you, and what sort of applications do you use? Some photos would be nice as well :)
